Eczema & Dermatitis Treatment
Skin is constantly being exposed to the elements thus making it susceptible to various problems including dermatitis/eczema.
Dermatitis or Eczema is an inflammation of the skin, generally appearing as swollen, reddened and itchy. There are many different types of the disorder, each with a distinct sign which may affect all age groups each with its own symptoms the most common including redness, swelling, itching and skin lesions.
Eczema or Dermatitis is a common non life- threatening or contagious skin disorder, which often makes people uncomfortable and self-conscious.
In the UK alone one fifth of all school age children and one in twelve adults suffer with eczema. These figures do not take into account the number of babies with the problem.
It is a fact that when people with eczema swim in the sea every day their eczema clears.
On returning from holiday, 2/3 weeks later the itching starts again.
Aalgo in a luke warm bath turns your bath into The same constituents as sea water without the salt. We wash all the salt off the seaweeds before they are dried so there is no stinging and no drying effect from the salt.

Atopic Eczema/Dermititis: Probably the most common usually begins in infancy, frequently with new born babies, and varies in severity throughout childhood and adolescence. It is supposed to become less of a problem in adulthood – but we have noticed a vast increase of it continuing into adulthood in the last five years.
Stress can exacerbate atopic eczema.

Aalgo is a natural exfoliant so the dry skin gently exfoliates away in the bath.
After the bath just pat them dry, this allows the invisible residue to be absorbed through the pores and re-hydrate the skin from within.
First thing you will notice is the ITCH will GO and the child will SLEEP thus breaking that vicious circle which parents know only too well.

It has shown in our experience talking to parents over the last
fourteen years that the most stressful things for children are:
Moving house bath every day coming up to, during, and after the move for at least a week until everything settles down then
stay on 2 baths a week for a month or two.
Starting play school (children may seem very excited about it but it can have a dramatic effect on some children) we suggest bathing every night for a few nights before starting play school and for the first
2 weeks at least.
Every September going back to school, and in the run-up to school examinations if necessary.
The start of the school year has proven to be a serious problem.
- Any time they are doing exams.
- Any time you feel the slightest dry skin get them to bath that night.
- Always bath after swimming in an indoor swimming to counteract the effects of the chlorine.
Instructions for Adults:

- Bath every day (no showers if possible) we are trying to keep the invisible residue of Aalgo on your skin until the eczema is totally clear. If you want to wash your hair have a shower first, then your Aalgo bath.
If you have to shower because of work or after sport, when you come home have a quick Aalgo bath.
Try and have a couple of long Aalgo baths a week, lying back with your neck muscles in the water (most people hold stress in their bodies as tension in their neck, shoulders and back) to totally de-stress and relax.
Remember have an Aalgo bath every day until totally clear.
When clear bath alternate days for a week, then once a week thereafter.
- Firstly the dreadful ITCH will ease
- Anywhere you have scratched raw will heal.

to counter the effects of the chlorine.
Neurodermatitis: This can be very irritating as it developes where one has tight clothing which may rub or scratch for example at the back of the neck, ankles, wrists, outer fore arm and under the bust. It appears as a rash or redness and is usually very itchy
Follow instructions above for bath.
Seborrheic Dermatitis/Eczema: In babies appears as dry yellowish flaky scalp and is commonly known as cradle cap which will spread rapidly if not treated.
In adults it is usually people with oily skin who suffer with the problem. It appears as dandruff which spreads to the ears then face and chest as red and inflamed and will flake. It may come and go with the seasons, and usually occurs during times of physical stress ie. traveling.
Instructions for Scalp:
For babies just add Aalgo to the bath and splash over the head
ADULTS ONLY Please Note: If you have tinted hair, always do a strand test behind the ear.
- Mix Aalgo into a watery paste with hot water.

- Leave on for about an hour then wash out.
- Repeat every second day for just 20 minutes until the eczema is totally gone.
Dyshidrosis: Appears only on the palms of the hands and fingers, and soles of the feet, heels and toes. It comes as tiny bumps called vesicles, thickening of the skin and cracking or splitting, and is unbearably itchy.
This has increased beyond belief within the last six years - we find at exhibitions that about 1 in 3 of everyone we speak to suffers with this problem.
If the problem is on both hands and feet bath daily with 2 heaped tablespoons of Aalgo shaken through a sieve into a luke warm bath – do this in the evening so that the feet are not going back into socks or shoes until the next day, and the hands are not going back into water until the next day.
Continue having an Aalgo bath daily until totally clear – then 1-2 baths per week to keep clear.
If the problem is just on either the hands or feet follow instructions for eczema below.

- Soak feet for a minimum of 20 minutes daily until problem solved.
- Make sure the water is only LUKE WARM

- When skin is clear do this 2-3 times a week to keep skin clear.
The above treatment is also wonderful for leg ulcers.
